No Dig Pipe Repair

Your waste pipes have one job: move waste water and excess rainfall away from your home. Over the years they can crack, rust, block up or get invaded by tree roots, and the usual fix sounds like bad news: digging up your yard.

It’s not always necessary. In many cases the pipe can be repaired without digging, using a technique called pipe relining, where a new pipe is essentially formed inside the old one. The lining is inflated to fit the old pipe, so no digging is required. Done right, relining is far less invasive and less disruptive to your surfaces, soil and landscaping, and where it suits the problem it’s cheaper and more convenient than excavation. It can fix blockages, tree roots, and rusted or broken drains. Some jobs, like a full sewer line replacement, still need digging, but don’t accept a trench until a qualified technician has checked whether relining will do.

Pipes get damaged over time and sometimes need replacing, but in some cases they can be repaired without any digging.

When should I dig?

Whether you need to dig depends on your particular problem, so have the situation assessed by a qualified drainage technician before you commit to anything.

In cases requiring direct pipe access (such as sewer line replacement), digging may be the only option, or it may be more cost-effective than the no dig solution.
